No-churn Nutella ice cream ~ the blender method
This 3-step blender method is genius, and so quick and easy. Whenever I make no-churn ice cream from now on, I will make it this way.
- Put cold cream in a blender and blend until whipped.
- Add sweetened condensed milk and a jar of Nutella and blend until combined.
- Pour into a freezer safe container and freeze for 6 hours until firm, or overnight.
It couldn’t be any easier!

Why it works
The blender whips air into the cream, then blends in the sweetened condensed milk and Nutella to make a smooth base. Their sugar, fat, and milk solids limit the growth of large ice crystals, so the ice cream freezes creamy, dense, and fudgy rather than icy.
SILKY TEXTURE: Nutella gives the ice cream a thick, rich, silky consistency that mimics Nutella itself.
RICH FLAVOR: the chocolate hazelnut flavor comes through loud and clear.
NO ICINESS: With this recipe you don’t need to worry about the ice cream getting too hard to scoop. You can leave it in the freezer for a day or two without any issues. A huge win for no-churn ice cream!

No-churn Nutella ice cream Q&A
Can I make this recipe in an ice cream machine?
Yes, though I haven’t tested it that way. Blend the cream, sweetened condensed milk, and Nutella without whipping the cream first, chill the mixture thoroughly, then churn according to your machine’s directions.
What can I use instead of Nutella?
Another chocolate-hazelnut spread is the easiest swap. Cookie butter or pistachio cream should also work.
Can I use a food processor instead of a blender?
I developed and tested this recipe in a blender, and that’s the method I recommend. A food processor should work, although the blender will be quicker and more efficient because the smaller blending area keeps the ingredients closer to the blades.
Can I lighten up this ice cream?
You can replace up to ½ cup of the heavy cream with whole evaporated milk. That will make it a little less rich without adding as much water as regular milk, which can lead to iciness. I wouldn’t cut back the Nutella or condensed milk ~ they’re important to the smooth texture. (You can buy evaporated milk in small 5-ounce cans, which would be perfect.)
Can I add nuts or chocolate chips?
Yes! Fold them in after blending. Toasted hazelnuts would be awesome.

No Churn Nutella Ice Cream
Equipment
- blender
Ingredients
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
- 13 ounces Nutella, a standard jar
- 1 tsp vanilla paste or extract, optional
Instructions
- Pour the cold cream into your blender and whip until firm. Be careful not to over whip it. If you have variable speeds on your blender start slow and work up to a faster spped. In my blender this takes less than a minute.
- Add the condensed milk and the Nutella to the blender. Add the vanilla if you are using it. Blend briefly to combine everything. You may need to scrape down the sides to get it all well combined. It shouldn't look streaky.
- Pour into a pan and smooth out, if necessary. Freeze for 6 hours until firm and scoopable, or overnight.
